Dakota Wicohan trains 50 community leaders every year through a wide range of mentor based programs, including:

  • Koska Boys Leadership Program
  • Wikoska & Wiciyena Girls Leadership Program
  • Sunktanka Wicahyuapi (They Care for Horses) Program
  • Community Leader Training

Dakota Wicohanpi: Lifeways Programs

Dakota Wicohan connects over 100 community members to wide range of training and workshops on our Dakota lifeways, our wicohan, including:

  • Art (Tawokaga) Apprenticeships with Master Artists in Tanning, Beading, Quilling and Quilting
  • Gardening (Wozupi) Apprenticeships and Workshops with Master and Community Gardeners
  • Arts Exhibits
  • Cultural Lifeways Trainings and Workshops with Guest Speakers on Horse, Storytelling, Traditional Medicines and More!
